How game night works

  1. Pick your games

Tick games by name, or “Any game in this category”. For each, choose Teach me, Casual or Serious.

  2. Sign up for game night

Game night is a lane of your area's weekly group night. Choose it instead of a group outing; sign-ups close two days before.

  3. Get your table

A table sized to the game: four for Spades, two teams for Codenames, two for chess. Everyone fits everyone else as a friend match.

  4. Vote on the place, then play

Your table picks a board-game café, library, coffee shop, brewery or park. The app handles the plan, with no chat.

Made for how people actually play

Your level, respected

Teach me, Casual or Serious. Beginners sit with people happy to teach, and serious players with people who play the same way.

Bring your partner

For Spades, Bid Whist, Bridge, Euchre, 42 and other partner games, link with your partner by code and sit together.

Chips only

Poker and casino-style games are always played for chips. No money, ever.

Weekly campaigns

D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Magic and Pokémon tables become a standing weekly group.

Questions

How do I find people to play a game with?

Tick the games you'd play in the app, each at Teach me, Casual or Serious, then sign up for game night in the week you want to play. Two days before, you're seated at a table for one of your games, with people who fit you as friends.

Can I bring my own partner for Spades, Bid Whist or 42?

Yes. Link with your partner once with a code from the app. When you both sign up, you sit together as partners. Or come alone and be partnered at the table.

Is money ever involved in poker?

No. Poker and casino-style games are played for chips only.

What about Dungeons & Dragons and other campaigns?

Role-playing games, collectible card games and campaign board games become a standing weekly table, so the story carries on with the same people. Each role-playing table has someone who can run it.

Where do tables play?

Public places only: board-game cafés, libraries, coffee shops and breweries, and parks for lawn games. Your table votes on where.

Is there a chat with my table?

No. Like everything on Zydeby, there's no chat. The app plans the evening and you meet in person.

Game names belong to their owners. Zydeby isn't affiliated with any game or publisher.
